About Me

Artwork is not mine. It's a fan photo of Hermione who is my fellow curly and nerdy sister!

Welcome to my blog!

As the title states, I'm a curly and nerdy girl.

I created this blog to share my scientific knowledge.

However, I also wanted to share my  my personal  experiences while on my curly journey , experiences, products, regimens, techniques, and a focusization on coarse curls. While coarseness is one of the most rarest strand-widths, I believe that makes it even important to focus on how to properly care for coarse curls!

I want to spread curl love and positivity, as well as scientific love and knowledge.

Like most curly girls, I spent years being frustrated, overwhelmed and even self-loathing my hair. It never looked like I wished it would. Regardless of using high heat, serums, and techniques to make it even straighter: it never would look like a beautiful silky, smooth and straight haired model. I had gotten to a point with heat damage that I ended up going from a curly girl to a wavy girl. These past two years of loving, nurturing and caring for my curls has made me love my hair in ways that I never imagined.

This journey has not been easy. I came across numerous issues, especially issues pertaining to proteins. I wanted to understand why my hair reacted this way. I've always been an extensive and intensive, since a child. Not only that, but the scientific based person that I am made me need to understand hair chemistry/science, as I did other forms. I began to read extensively on chemicals, ingredients, proteins, hair genetics, etc. -- so I could have an overtly comprehensive and extensive knowledge.

Through this blog, I'll be sharing my numerous branches of knowledge in regards to textured hair, as well as the other subjects that I mentioned above! I hope this blog supplies the information that I so desperately was available readily.

Personally, I only buy cruelty-free products. I will annotate when a product is or is not cruelty free, vegan, clean or containing dangerous chemicals, and products containing ingredients which may have a negative effect such as protein(s) or humectants.
